Once you leave the docking bay and enter Star Forge, you can't go back to Ebon Hawk or change your party around. I hope you like the companions you picked...If you're playing dark side, one of your companions must be Bastila.

Deck 1

  1. Ebon Hawk. As you exit the ship, you will be met by other Jedi who will help you engage some dark Jedi that run into the hangar.
  2. When you reach this point, the doors behind you will seal and droids will begin attacking you. Work your way to (C) in either direction.
  3. A group of Sith kill a group of Jedi and then turn on you.
  4. Exits to Deck 2

Deck 2

  1. Entrances from Deck 1
  2. As you enter this large hall, you will be swarmed by dark Jedi and Sith soldiers. There are gun turrets at (C), so try to move your party East towards (D). Keep melee characters from rushing opponents and coming in range of the guns. There are two or three waves of enemies. Once they are defeated, you can move on the gun turrets.
  3. Gun turrets guard the elevator to the Command Center. You can attack them (I recommend doing so after you've taken care of all human opponents), or you can disable them from the computer room.
  4. Computer room. The computer in here can disable the gun turrets. You can also make yourself some very nice Jedi robes (1 outfit only): Star Forge Robes for light Jedi (+5 Defense, +2 all saving throws, +5 Wisdom); Revan's Robes for dark Jedi (+5 Defense, +4 Strength, Regeneration 1). You can also make suits of light or heavy armor.
  5. Elevator to Command Center

Command Center

  1. Elevator from Deck 2. Fight your way through to (B)
  2. Star Forge command center. There are two scenarios to be played out here:
    1. Light Side: Bastila awaits. You have to beat her down three times (without your companions, as she freezes them). In between each beating, you have to try to turn her back to the light. It is fairly easy to do, and you don't even need Persuade. Once turned back, Bastila will use her Battle Meditation against the Sith while you pursue Malak.
    2. Dark Side: Malak's top three apprentices await you here. They don't freeze your companions, so it's a three-on-three fight.
  3. Droid factory. There are six droid generators in this room. When you enter, the doors will seal behind you, cutting you off from retreat and your companions. It's up to you now. After talking to Malak at (D), he will activate the generators, which will each spit out an assault droid. Next to each generator is a computer console. You have to slice each console and disable the generator it controls, otherwise, the generators will produce a new droid each time you destroy the previous one that generator produced (the generators, droids and control panels are labelled A-F). If you run out of spikes, just keep taking down droids. Each droid you destroy causes a computer spike to appear in its bin next to its control panel. PCs with almost no Computer Use skill will need 8 or 9 spikes to disable each generator. The number goes down as your CU skill increases.
  4. Elevator to Viewing Platform

Viewing Platform

This is it. The big showdown!

  1. Elevator from Command Center. Before you enter the door, power up (shields/stims)
  2. Malak awaits here. You'll insult each other a bit then have to beat him down. When his health gets low, he'll run to a captured Jedi in an energy field nearby. He'll explain how he can tap into the Jedi to restore his health, making him invincible! There are a total of 8 of these Jedi rechargers in the room. Six are here on the lower platform.
  3. Upper platform. Two more Jedi rechargers are up here.

Basic strategy is to destroy the Jedi rechargers so Malak can't constantly restore his health and force points. You can only do this with an offensive force power that is not Stun, Stasis, Stasis Field, Force Push, Force Whirlwind or Force Wave. I know, that's all I had the first time I played this game. Any other offensive power works, even Stun Droid! :sigh: So, here are the two options you have:

  1. You don't have an offensive power capable of destroying the rechargers. You are not totally screwed. Each time you beat Malak down, he has to run off to be close to the recharger in order to be restored. This gives you time to heal yourself (medpacks are more effective than the force powers Cure or Heal) and re-inject stims. Just keep moving! If you are near an active recharger when Malak breaks off, run away! You can run faster than him even without stims or the Speed force powers, so run!

Malak has the Force Jump feats, but he won't use them to move between levels. So, if he's on the lower level (B) when he breaks off, run to the upper level (C). There are only two rechargers on the upper level. When I fought him the first time, I kept him upstairs until he had used up those two rechargers. Then, each time he broke off he would have to run all the way downstairs, recharge, then run all the way back upstairs! It was, actually, almost laughably easy. I had so much time to restore myself in between bouts it was almost like I had my own rechargers. (Funny thing, I killed him on the upper level but his death scene still played out on the lower level...)

Also make sure you save in between each bout as well. I'm glad I did. The first time I killed him, he hit me with Plague the same round I killed him. We went through the whole death scene, and then I died on my way out of the room! Fortunately, I only had to replay the final fight.
  2. You do have an offensive power capable of destroying the rechargers. OK, follow the same basic principle as Option 1. Keep moving! When Malak breaks off, run the opposite direction and start destroying rechargers. Keep on a different level than Malak so he can't Force Jump to you. If you have Drain Life or Death Field powers, you can use the rechargers yourself and really turn the tables on Malak. Don't try to destroy all the rechargers after one bout with Malak. Make sure you leave some time to re-buff yourself and heal your wounds (if you don't have the ability to drain the captured Jedi yourself). If you move fast enough, you might only have to fight Malak three or four times.

You leave via the elevator and arrive back in the hangar where Ebon Hawk awaits. If you played a dark side female character and if you completed Carth's romance plot, you will meet him here and either have to kill him or renounce your evil deeds and then you and Carth kill Bastila.

Now it is on to the epilogue movie. Which is kind of cheesy if you are playing light side, and only a slight bit better if you are playing dark side. That's it! Time to try again with another character (I've done seven so far...)
