I say they spent years writting there books so they had a lot of time to think about what to write.
True. But I think some of them, like Dickens, wrote their books in chapters and submitted it to magazines one chapter at a time. So they had to write the plot as they went. That's why some of Dickens books were so long, the magazines paid him by the word. Lol

Yeah, Rhyykol has been going crazy in the Taris rpg and adding everything at once instead of spreading it out.
