So who think Russia is trying to resurect the old Russian Empire (or just be Soviet without the communism)?
What should NATO and the West's response be?

I believe Russian is trying to rebuild the Russian Empire and the USA will not do a thing because Russain and the USA are allies.

But Russia and the US aren&#39;t allys.. we&#39;re in NATO.. and they&#39;re not.. infact NATO was formed and still acts as an anti-Russia club

The USA is not going to do anything to upset Russia because Russia has more nukes then the USA. Also the USA dose not want to go to war with Russia because we are still fighting in Afganastan and Iraq.

haha yeah, ive been away for most of the summer..
and no, the US has more nukes than all of the world combined..
but yeah.. I don&#39;t think there will be a war, because of the mutually assured destruction.. but sanctions?

I know one country that the United States will never go to war with because we would get destroyed and it is China. For every one person in the USA their are around 10 chinese people. China is country that the USA wants to stay allies with.

yeah.. well its not the numbers.. we could defeat them in a conventional war (we both have nukes so we&#39;d anhialate each other anyway) but both of our countries would go into HUGE economic depressions if we attack one another because we&#39;re so economically intermixed.. so yeah.. it&#39;s in both out interests to stay friends.. and we will

I still think that Russia made a great choice to invade Gerogia and it was a smart move to act like they were pulling out, just to move deeper into the country.  big_smile

If you do some research you&#39;ll find Georgia was actually the agressor.
