I do Marine Recon Training Camp. I'm a Sergeant Major so I train four rookies.

Let me explain the mathematical formulae of woodchips.

Well, the common woodchip is very small with 20mm in width, usually a few more cm in height, commonly about 40mm, and the volume can be as thin as 5mm to 30mm. Therefore, due to it's shape like a rectangle, it is easy to figure out the the area and/or volume of the woodchip. However, there is a problem. Due to the rugged texture and shape of the woodchip, the height x width x depth will not always be best. With accurate measuring equipement, we can find out the exact area of the woodchip.
