I knew it was a Star Wars movie but when I started watching it did not feel like a Star Wars movie. There was some thing off to me in the movie but I can not put my finger on it.

Don't get me wrong it was a good action movie and I have watched a few times already but hopefully the next movie will be better.

I wish the movie started on a planet not covered in sand because the beginning felt too much like Tattoonie for me.

I mean couldn't the entirety of VII be considered a rehash of IV? So many similarities.

Agreed. They showed us new planets but even the new planets had the feeling of we have seen this before. They had so many options of worlds and storylines to do but they kinda screwed themselves when they decided to blow up all the core worlds. I think they are trying to separate from the original cannon to much because of the vorg invading and taking the core worlds.

Tbh I don't remember that much of the film. I just remember thinking it was A New Hope but with different people.
