FOUND A WAY TO GET PASS IT!! go to gamecopyworld.com and type in your game and find kotor 1
after tat click 1 tat has the version u have. it will show u a instructions and to download its the little datapad thingy

uhhmm ok so i have the exact same problem as the original post, ive ran it in compatibility mode and updated my drivers and some of my hardware but it still keeps happening. is it just because i have vista?????

Okay, Sorry for the late reply to your question but if you have tried the patches and it still wont work then it is because you have vista. Vista is not the best thing to use to play KOTOR and you are not the only one to have this problem. I hope that answers your question and I hope you stay on here and keep posting.
