here's the best way to prepare for ME3 (if you're a male shepard)

1. recruit everyone possible in ME1. don't leave everyone behind.

2. make sure everyone but Kaidan survives ME1.

3. save the Rachni queen.

4. do all the bonus missions. and romance ashley or liara.

5. save the council. controversial choice, but you need a galaxy's loyalty. the only way to do that is to save the council. ignorant jackasses as they may be.

6. recruit everyone in ME2.

7. gain everyone's loyalty in ME2.

8. romance no one in ME2.

9. DESTROY the collector base.

10. SAVE your entire crew from being processed.

I've played through both ME games as every class available but I've got to say I favor the soldier over all of them. In the first one being a solider was alright: you didn't get any fancy little magic tricks or anything but you kicked ass and got the damn job done. Plus, who doesn't love sexy heavy armor?

The second one? Total awesomeness. Hands down. Not only do you get almost ever ammo power available in the game (as well as the ability to spread the love to your squadmates allowing you to unleash a full helping of whoop ass) but you can also learn one of your party's special powers. Speaking of cans of whoop ass... not the best drawing in the world I know but it still gets major points for all the meaning it implies.

Anyway, back to what we were talking about: playing through ME2 as a soldier was epic. And with Reave or Slam, I absolutely destroyed anything the game threw at me. Even on Insanity.

Paragon choices:

1. Of course. Always helps to have more people.

2. Kaidan lived. Ashley died! (YES!!!)

3. Done.

4. Romanced Kaidan <3

5. Almost didn't... but I got to keep my reputation up so... yeah.

7. Loyalty missions means more XP and happy people. Almost didn't do Jacob's or Thane's though. I don't like guys I don't like liking me.

8. Controlling my flirtatious nature was difficult but I succeeded.

9. Who the hell is stupid enough to KEEP it?!

10. Too bad you can never save those poor colonists.

Renegade choices:

1. Might as well. More bodies to throw at the enemy. 

2. Kaidan lived. Ashley died! (YES!!!)

3. I almost didn't kill her... almost...

4. See Paragon choices

5. I let them burn. Here's basically what I would have said if I were actually Renegade Shepard in that moment --> Shepard: I f**king told you the Reapers were coming and you didn't f**king listen! Why the hell should I save your f**king asses from something that you claim doesn't f**king exist?! Oh, don't worry, you're not really dying... it's just my "imagination." Yeah... have fun with that.

7. I needed the XP. Really the only reason I did them for some people.

8. Pssh... Kaidan will never find out. *pulls Garrus into Captain's Cabin*

9. Even as a Renegade I'm not about to bloody KEEP the Collector base! That's like beyond stupid. Besides I like Renegade Shepard's line at the end when speaking with the Illusive Man --> Shepard: "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble hearing you. Seems I'm getting a lot of bull s**t on this line." f**k yes.

10. Let's just say Dr. Chakwas was very pissed with me.

I always play as the solider first. Something about heavy armor and big guns just makes me want to kill stuff. ^_^

one disagreement on that bit about jacob, kaidan and thane, though. now im not g*y, but thane is my BRO. he sounds like he smokes 7 packs of cigarrettes and drinks a fifth of liquour EVERY day! TIM FRIGGIN ALLEN has NOTHING on this guy!

and kaidan is a bro too. i let him live once. my most recent playthough, in fact (the one i just finished tonight). i found out how much of a bro he is...i still didnt use him though....but he gained my respect. maybe because it's carth. and carth was my BRO. MY BRO. DOWN YA GO!!!!! TIME TO RUMBLE!!!!!

and jacob is just my bro. i have to identify with him. i dont know....maybe it's a black thing.

I liked Thrane and had him with me a few different times throughout the game and he comes in handy a lot.

I so was...you already know.....

I found him somewhat interesting. But he's an excellent squadmate.

And how did you like his son? He sounded like some weak sophomore kid from computer apps....voice so high its like he hasnt even hit puberty nor ever will.....

.....um sorry....personal flashback there. Point still stands, his voice sucks compared to his father.

look, he was grandfathered into the bro club. he SUCKS as a squadmate. Liara (who is amazingly hot. i'd take her over a twilek) was like Kaidan on steroids. great squadmate.

i can agree with that. he was a pretty bad squadmate....he was kinda grandfathered in, too. not because he was black, but because of his dialogue with shepard...had the best lines...

um...me neither....that was....disturbing.... X_X

Everytime I is Thane he reminds me of a movie that came out in the 80's I think called "Enemy" or something like that. The race in that movie that looks like Thane are called Draks.

I agree with you there.

I agree because it is the best of the 2 classes or soldier and biotic, I have found I enjoy playing as a vangard better then I ever did a s a soldier.

That was awesome and that should show those who don't use Thane why they should.
