If the jedi really wanted to stop the chance of members having kids and falling in love they should have made it a rule that you had to have your nuts cut off or if you were a woman have your tubes tied and overies taken out. But hey did not do that because even the jedi need to love because if they did not love they would not give their lives to protect the galaxy from the Darkside.

The Jedi code fell apart completely for me during Episode III.

Yeah... Episode III really sucked. It was more action oriented. And it feels like George Lucas didn't know how to bridge the two trilogies, so he was making that kind of mistakes.
