Zharr sits behind a rock, slowly reloading his shotgun, he reloads like every bullet was a memory, he was thinking long and hard about this. why did he join? why was he alive? why did this all happen?
he was speaking to himself while reloading "where is the other marines? im on my own against 15,000 grunts and elites. the commander, heh, 'support? you are the support' ha! say that to my face now!" he finish's reloading "i gotta take one for my team, with tom on the other side of the galxy and the others i dont even know where they are."
He stands up , points his gun round to see a terrifying sight... the flood...
Zharr knew that he couldn't take them, so he did what any man would do... bomb them. he took out his rocket launcher, loaded it... then fired, multiple rockets, but nothing. they just kept comming and comming.

Ardo points to the light emitted by Thel's energy sword. "There!" he shouts. "An energy sword."
"A wise move," Vali says. "We should do the same."
Ardo nods and he and Vali activate their energy swords and raise them in the air.
...Alliance, Cave...
Lisa chuckles. "You know as well as I do ONI isn't gonna fall for that kind of bullshit. Especially with a missing pilot, honey."

(( Meanwhile... Alliance... Caves... ))
"Well, the Reach part is mostly plausible. I was stationed near the planet, but was commissioned to bring supplies some place elsewhere... I did pick up some radio transmissions on the way away from Reach." Bruce explains. He leans on the wall, and looks at Lisa.
"I once had comrades. Good ones. My last mission, they went AWOL from me. I don't trust easy anymore..." He states.
"... Anything else you wanna know about?"

Cado picks up the human's trail again. "This way," he roars.
...Alliance, Cave...
"That's not trust."
The Spartans are suddenly interrupted my Maximus's voice. "They follow our trail," he growls.
Everyone looks as Maximus points towards the group of faint blue lights visible through the fog.
Daar stands up, loading a clip into his MA5C and moves to stand next to the Elite. "We don't need to move from this shelter."
Maximus looks at the Spartan. "If we do not move they will quickly be upon us. We are outnumbered and I fear not even three Demons will be enough to handle these Sangheili."
He turns to look towards the lights moving through the fog. "They are the Prophet's puppets... their elite assassins. And they will stop at nothing..." he says, turning to Daar again. "To receive their tainted salvation."
Daar turns to look at the orb that lies on the floor of the cave then looks back at Maximus. "The most important thing is to get that" he says, pointing towards the orb. "In UNSC hands. That could very well end this whole war... nothing else matters."
He looks out at the lights again. "I will lead them off your trail. You move with the others towards the LZ once the fog clears."
"And just how do you plan to lead them off our trail Spartan?" Maximus asks.

The fog starts to lighten up a small bit.
"I have their trail also. Deactivate your swords, and let's move in." Thell states.

The Elites deactive their swords and move towards the humans' hideout.
...Alliance, Cave...
Daar shakes his head. "I don't know," he says to Maximus. "And I'm not committing suicide," he says, turning to Jay.
He steps out into the thinning fog. "Get to the LZ. I'll meet you there."
And with that, he was gone.
