Ardo sniffs the air and shakes his head. "Nye, Ship Mistress. The Parasite closes in on us even now."

Another growl escapes Vali throat. "I have fought many years, Ardo, and you have been by my side for most of them. You and I have seen many of our brothers lost to the Parasite. I will not see you lost to is as well."

"You have no choice, Vali," Ardo replies with an edge to his voice. Vali was always stubborn but she was wasting precious time. She could still survive. What was he to her but a battered and worn soldier...

If he could save her life with his perhaps the gods would forgive his previous mistakes and he, too, would be granted salvation.

...Alliance, Outside the Ancient Structure...

Maximus listens and it is obvious the Elite is very uneasy. "We must push forward," he states. "On the outer edges of the storm."

He leaves, obviously not carrying whether or not the humans followed. He would not die today.

...Elites, Tunnels...

Cado stops suddenly and curses loudly. Kysh comes up behind the Sangheili to ask what was wrong but he too stops.

"The pathway is blocked," Cado yells. "The damn Demons knew we would be dumb enough to follow them so now they've trapped us for the Parasite to close in on us like a cornered animal!"

"That can't be!" Ullono exclaims. He comes over to the rubble in the way, and starts moving some rocks before he looks back. "It's deep... ore, dirt, and steel is the only thing blocking the path... perhaps we could melt a way through?"

Bel'san shakes his head,"It's too narrow in the hallway, something could ricochet or miss fire and kill us all." he explains.

(( Meanwhile... Outside... ))

"Do we have a Pelican inbound?" Links asks.

"I'm not sure... the storm is blocking my radio signal." Jay replies.

Okay, yeah, Em really doesn't do anything. No ideas for her so I'm just gonna have her kinda disappear in the fog. Never to be seen again. o_O

...Alliance, Outside the Ancient Structure...

Maximus leads the group along the edges of the storm. He continues to look back at Grim and the other Demon. Both seemed to be planning... plotting. It had been Maximus's job at one point to smell out traitors...

But he did not want the humans to think that he did not trust one of their own. He would simply watch them carefully. The human continued to disappear. If he did so again, Maximus would follow.

The Demon on the other hand was a complete puzzle. While the other two interacted, it remained silent... distant.

...Elites, Tunnels...

Cado growls. "The whole damn tunnel could collapse," he inserts.

Scron nods in agreement. "I would rather die that way than eaten and corrupted by the Parasite," he states.

The wind picks up, and violently the winds pick up. The sky is now fully grey, thunder and lightning now patrol the skies. Jay looks up, and tries to contact Martinez on the radio.

"You might be wasting your time sir. The storm is to rough." Links states.

(( Meanwhile... Tunnels... ))

Thell nods. "As would I."

Vali pulls Ardo to her. "I will not let you waste your life, Ardo! It is a death without honor... and I will not see my closest friend killed and then thrown around like some puppet with the Parasite holding your strings."

...Alliance, Outside...

Maximus nods in agreement with the first human. "He is right," he says looking towards Jay. "Your communications will not work in a storm like this. It is best to save the life and wait till the signal is clear. "

...Elites, Tunnels...

Cado pulls out his plasma rifle. "Good point, brothers."
