Ive been hearing great reviews about this game (Even though I have no time to play). Wondering what others have heard.
Everything I've heard has been in the form of official reviews, I don't know anyone who's played it yet. We'll probably get it when it's come down a little in price and the inevitable bugs have been ironed out.
(And I've stopped being grumpy about being unable to customise the main character.)
Yeah, I totally feel you on all of that. I'm def gona wait till its cheaper unless I grab it today on cyber Monday lol. Yeah, that annoying you cant do the KOTOR player creation.
Eh, I feel a lot of games don't give you any customisation. Or they say you can, but what they mean is that you get to pick what skills/talents/etc you want to learn as you level up.
Apparently it's too much to ask to be able to chose skin/hair colour and maybe gender.
I get that not every game is going to give you DA Inquisition levels of customisation, but a couple of basics (especially for games claiming to be RPGs) would be nice.
This is where you tell me Fallen Order isn't claiming to be an RPG...
Fallen Order isn’t claiming to be an RPG...
Fair enough.
...my point still stands though.
I feel like they are intertwined with Disney to create specific stories. If you leave it up to the user, there won’t be a set “Canon” to work off of.
You can have default canon. I think it's more about avoid conflicts in future games if they give players too much choice as well.
Also, didn't Disney erase all non-film canon - categorising it as "legends canon" - just so that they could remake their own canon with their own films/tv/games/books/comics/whatever from there on out?

I hope there will be a game set in the future and the past to where they can tell stories and have the ability to let the player loose.
You mean like Mass Effect Andromeda
I enjoyed it. I thought it was fine.
I meant wrt removing the new plot from any previous player choices.
The only issue I took with Andromeda was the fact they released it full of bugs (and stopped patching it because of Anthem) and that if they hadn't associated it with the ME trilogy it could have been a perfectly well received game. I think people had expectations from ME because the original (except the last bit of 3) were so good.
So...I...just gotta say. Expectations are bad m’kay.
I went in with a thought of just having a good time. I knew it wasn’t gonna be the same as the originals, but I was hopeful and it filled that ME need for the time being.
True, but you'd think after the ME3 ending fans would stop expecting stuff from the ME universe to be as good as they could be.
Also, I need to go and have an argument with ME3 as it just deleted a bunch of my saves I tried to archive. I've never seen a game delete an archive folder in a game save directory before.
Man, console safety makes me happy.
I like having all the buttons on my keyboard to assign.
Also, it's called back ups. Which - surprisingly - past Lilitia was on top of. Mainly because these saves were pre gaming PC. But post crappy laptop that made me find this site in the first place because KOTOR hated Vista. In fairness, hating Vista is a valid standpoint.
Besides, it's not like I haven't completed this game multiple times before and could easily just recreate that character if required. This just saves me the leg work to get to specific cut-scenes and missions.

Fair.
I’m just going by recent times.
I’m a sucky rpg player. I’ll make like 5 characters who play the exact same.
I'll make a character that becomes my fave and then I really struggle not to just replay as that character repeatedly. I will make different characters and decide that they will do things in certain ways, such as incompetent Shepard - which was a fun experiment.
But these tend to be the characters/saves that never get finished, or get left for like a year and then by the time I come back to them I've forgotten how I was playing them and then they just turn into my default...
I played Male Shep as a Paragon. A beacon of light in a dangerous space time.
My default is fem Shep who is like 80% paragon but enough renegade to punch the occasional twit in the face when required.
Because some people just have a backpfeifengesicht.
