I quite liked it.

(Minor spoilers)
However, I felt a bit like it was a rehash of Episode IV, which ruined it slightly. But I feel like that will be forgiveable so long as they don't continue that trend with the rest they have planned.

I can deal with it if it's used as an intro that's also a big nod to original fans in that kind of "look we've referenced the original" way. If they do that with all of them then it'll quickly lose the appeal it can have for one film.

But it works very well as an introduction to all these new characters and the universe however many decades after the original trilogy. It's familiar and new all at the same time. They've set the scene with all these potentially awesome new and old characters, hopefully they can capitalise on it and deliver a good, original storyline.

Having said that, I felt a bit underwhelmed with Kylo Ren's part. I'm not quite sure why.

Manaan, the next one should be set on Manaan.

I think they should start it off on an ice planet with an opposite sounding name like...Sunshineth

Korriban could be interesting, assuming there's still a settlement on it at all after that much time. However I doubt any of the movies would want the good guys looking for a dark side artefact, which seems about the most logical explanation as to why they'd be on Korriban... Unless they're a student escaping...

That was my thinking about Kylo Ren too.

I hope they mix it up but we will have to wait and see when the next movie comes out.
