Re: Mass Effect 3

The Control the Reapers ending can stay the same but they need to change the Destroy the Reapers ending.

Re: Mass Effect 3

I wish they would have showen where the Reapers came from or at least showed you what the place looked like where they have been all this time.

Re: Mass Effect 3

its just deep space. beyond the milky way. some void between galaxies. nothing special.

and technically at the end of 2, you did see where they were coming from.

Re: Mass Effect 3

I remember that but alittle more into the story and background would have really made it better.

Re: Mass Effect 3

I agree with Prince here. It's just an empty space. Nothing to see there. After Reapers finish of cleansing the Galaxy they would go into that empty space and "sleep" there for 50 000 years.

Re: Mass Effect 3

I know that but I wounder if th Reapers have a hive mind like the Geth do?

Re: Mass Effect 3

no they dont. Sovereign tells you on Virmire.

"We are each a nation. Independent."

Re: Mass Effect 3

Yeah but if they are each a nation then why do they attack as one then?

Re: Mass Effect 3

To obliterate all resistance. The Reapers are, after all, attempting to annihilate entire civilizations. It took them over a 100 years to drive the Protheans to extinction and that was just a single race spread out over hundreds of systems. Not only were they targeting humans in ME3 but krogans, turians, asari, etc. Every single race which had achieved galactic expansion using the mass relays.

One single Reaper could never accomplish such a massive feat. The race being targeted would immediately coordinate with the other races and form a counter attack; the Reaper would be wiped out as we saw with Sovereign in the original ME. So how could the Reapers prevent this coordination? Why... the answer was simple.

You work together to attack your enemy on multiple fronts. You overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly impossibly vast military force and make them spread their own forces thin until they are in a state of vulnerability. Once they are vulnerable they will call for aid and so you strike their allies, using the same strategy. And when their allies are spread thin and vulnerable themselves they will call for aid... but no one will heed their call. After all, a man will save his own home before he saves another's. It's simple human logic.

Then, once you have them vulnerable you begin to slowly push. You drive them each into a corner from which there is no escape and slowly but effectively wipe them out. That's why they attacked as a single force. To offer no escape. No hope. They just didn't expect Shepard. wink

Another thing to take into consideration is "the cycle" both the Reapers and the Catalyst make mention of. Apparently they were created by some "greater force" to "bring order to chaos". So even though they're all separate, they all serve the same purpose.

Re: Mass Effect 3

lol Thought you might like that. smile Bioware seriously put some military strategy into ME3. I mean, all their works are generally awesome but this just... really awesome. An attack on such a massive scale... the Reaper strategy is simplistic in some ways and yet pure military genius. Perfect for the given scenario.

I never thought of it that way. Thanks Starr.
