Re: Revan's Story Revealed in an upcoming Novel!!!
So by your statement Revan was not a Sith so no red saber but he was not a full jedi either so he should have a saber color neither Sith nore jedi use.

So by your statement Revan was not a Sith so no red saber but he was not a full jedi either so he should have a saber color neither Sith nore jedi use.
I never said Revan wasn't a Sith. Revan did fall to the darkside... there's no mistaking that. However, if you look at it from Revan's standpoint he didn't consider himself to be a Sith. Thus the Jedi green saber. What a lot of people don't get is yes, Revan did use the darkside, and yes, he did lots of horrible things. But, he believed in the end it was all for the good of the Republic. In a way it kinda resembles "the ends justify the means" philosophy.
Revan sought to conquer the Republic only in turn to make it stronger. It's why he never laid waste to major cities, destroyed shipyards or factories, etc. Now, if the Republic happened to win against him then it was well enough on its own and didn't need his help. To put all that simply, Revan is just a extremely complex character which is why very few writers successfully capture him in entirety.
I can only hope this Drew Karpyshyn fellow doesn't disappoint...
P.S. I've had this discussion with a good many people, and I've had uninformed people try to argue the beginning of my second paragraph with "But Revan bombed Telos" or some crap like that. Please, if you're gonna try and argue with someone do know your stuff. Malak gave the order for Telos to be bombed. Revan was not involved.
That's an interesting perspective Star. So Revan still thought of himself as the Republic's savior, whereas Malak was just after the power and control. That's why he attempted to kill Revan and then adopted the red colored saber.
Haha, that's pretty funny about the discussions with other KotOR fans. Keep 'em straight Starr! That's why Carth was so ticked with his ex-commander.
Believe it or not, my last post about Revan is mostly canon. I may be off on one or two things but I generally know my Star Wars stuff.
Malak was just after the power and control.
I'm the type of person who likes to believe there's a little good in everyone. In my opinion Alek is someone else a lot of people misunderstand. To me, Alek didn't follow Revan for power but rather a sense of undying loyalty [or love if Revan is depicted as a woman]. When Revan began delving in the darkside of the Force near the end of the Mandalorian War, Alek remained faithful to the Jedi Code. It wasn't until Revan completely fell to the darkside that Alek succumbed as well, prodded into it by the person he idolized.
Thus, the Jedi Alek ceased to exist and Malak was born.
You are right Starr and Revan sounds a lot like Luke because Luke also used Darkside powers but did it for the return of the jedi so I see and understand what you are talking about.
I recently got this book, any thoughts on it? I haven't started it, I was just wondering what of you that have read it think.
What is the book?
Return of the Jedi?
No...Revan.
Oh, Okay.
A lot of people said they were disappointed with this book, but I disagree. I actually really liked it, especially Drew Karpyshyn's treatment of Revan's character post-KOTOR. He gave Revan a very balanced view of the Force that was more in line with the grey Jedi, and was completely believable since Revan had experienced life as a Jedi Knight and Sith Lord and knew the rights and wrongs of both. I'd definitely recommend this book to Knights of the Old Republic fans; just don't expect it to be a cast reunion for the first KOTOR game. It's a lot of backstory about Revan and Alek's fall to the darkside and his dreams in the game, but very well written.
I need to find this book and read it because it kinda sounds like the first Darth Bane book and I liked that one.
I haven't had a chance to read the Bane books, but I think it's the same author and he did a great job with it. It has a pretty surprising ending too.
Any fan of KOTOR game would love to read about Revan's story before his fan to the Darkside and after becuase I know I do.
I think a lot of people didn't like it cause it didn't bring in many of the other cast members. Bastila, Canderous, T3 and the Exile are the only ones who really make an appearance. But it was still a well written novel and had a really good story. It also gave a little info on the Shan family that appear in the other OR novels.
I liked it for the most part. My biggest gripe with it is it was specifically written to match up with TOR. and I hate that game and the story line that goes with it.
I have not played TOR mmo game and from what I seen of it I have not missed anything.
Same here Jest.
I find mmo's a waste of money and time but that is me.
It's mostly for these little kids and man-children who have hours everyday to spend gaming. I get a little bit of time every once in a while in the evenings or Saturdays and that's pretty much it. So I don't wanna be paying a monthly subscription fee to play a game maybe two or three hours a month.
That is the main reason I only really play Lotro. An online Lord of the Rings game for free. I enjoy that much more than TOR
