Yeah, western religions...

My name is Magnus... Born in New York City, also lived in Santa Monica, CA and now been living for the most part in Oslo, Norway the past 10 years or so.

At the moment im serving in the Norwegian Armed Forces as a Corporal and Squad Leader of a little QRF (Quick Reaction Force) keeping the other guys in the Signal Battalion safe if they should get ambushed or attacked wink

Im getting discharged this summer and looking forward to becoming a civillian again, but still keeping the possibility as a Sargeant or 2nd Lieutenant open if i should end back up in the Army big_smile

Im in command of one of these things:

Magnus means "The Great" in latin and was used among Roman Generals like Magnus Maximus and is also a ancient kings name in scandinavia...

Hope no one is offended but i stick to a "Fight Club" quote when i explain religion tongue

"f**k damnation, man! f**k redemption! If we are God's unwanted children? So be it!"

Your life, your thoughts, your feelings and god has nothing to do with them if you ask me... But thats just my opinion

Well... First off i was curious if Starr is currently serving?

I'm currently serving in the Recon Marines. However, it won't be "offical" until I go through the ten weeks of Marine training at Parris Island, S.C, in August of this year.

Starr

Well. then i got the right impression smile

Been a week out on exercise now and pretty drunk right now since its after all saturday and i just got my paycheck for this month!

Anyway, anyone have any opinion on my question?

Off topic:
listening to something i usally never listen to... Rave music... but these lyrics apply to me so they are pretty sweet when not fully landed on planet earth yet after a good time out big_smile

check it out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Pb8VPYMgHlg& … re=related

Lyrics:

"his is what I love, and can't stop loving.
Get wasted at parties, from 9 'til 7 in the morning.
I live for the music, rolling Blunts, feeling high, getting loaded, or take some pills and go to La-la-land.
Spending all my money on dope and on extreme high price tickets, but in the end it's all worth it
I like to live in my OWN WORLD ! f**k regular life...f**k a 9-to-5 job.
I'm told to enjoy every moment, every hour, every minute, thats what I do on fridays and saturdays.
Why should I take life so seriously? I just want do what I like to do, being far from reality.
Cause I can't stand society
This is my own world, I just want to hear the music.
I think the whole system f**king sucks, everybody is working their f**king ass off during the week, getting totally f**king stressed out.
So what's wrong and what's right? I live for the weekend, I live for hard styles, I live for hardstyle baby...
Come on, let's go!"

Peace and love

Well... First off i was curious if Starr is currently serving? Just got the impression tongue Havnt seen anything the confirms it in the way off topic threads here, hehe... Just hard to catch a on topic reply reading though the "chat logs" lol

Anyway, back to my topic. Anyone here in the army (any country counts) or planning on serving anywhere? For me its just interesting hearing stories from other enlisted/drafted guys and girls how their day is and what they do. wink

I was drafted by the Norwegian Armed Forces almost a year ago and getting discharged now this summer and looking forward to going back to the civilian me. But the Army has been quite a good but hard experiense to now. Leaving on a 2 week NATO exercise now on monday so wondered if i might stumble on anyone since a lot of countries will be taking part tongue

The real reason for this post is that me and the guys at the barracks were having a discussion on why people enlist and what kind of people they are... The quote is "Who actually wants to be in a real battle?"

So what do you think? If your in the Army, planning on joining or just have something to say on the question?

Cheers, have a good friday night! Im broke and cant even afford a beer

What types of men or women do you like? big_smile  B)

One Tree Hill is a series right?

Yeah...

I'll then excuse myself saying i have a lot of time to kill sometimes when im off duty so eventually i'v seen all six seasons lol

And the type of girl i really, really like is the character there Payton!

(played by Hilary Burton if im not wrong)

Payton in the series is lovable to me... Geez... Sometimes i wish she was real! tongue

I admit i like the good looking but still a bit confused, not to confident ones... Simply because when you get to know them and they show you their true self, they are the greatest friends and lovers you can dream of! wink

When i comes to the real world you wont to find to many of that kind and i honestly just like women who can se life as simple as i do: Ida Scott Taylor once wrote: "Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering."

Peace and love... Im drunk and my mind is soaring

Take away the innocent woman... Starr is right! We train to kill without thinking, or to put it, we train to shot at any threat against us or any of our allies. Ironic enough i dont think Norway as quite put the cold war behind them tongue Cause when we fire at our cardboard targets - they kinda remind me of a mean russian soldier from some movies with an AK47 running at me...

Sadly enough or good enough depending on who you ask i get way to many "BOOOOM HEADSHOT's" on those (even at 200m+) lol

Must be leftover target practise from the COLD WAR era?

Also the consant feeling that just around the next corner might lie your killer creates stress soldiers cant face when they come home. A old nice man i knew served in 'nam and slept with his .45 under his pillow until the day he died of old age some 30 years later. He never really felt safe even after coming back from the war said his wife.

I tend to think about stuff like this now and then since im currently in the Army and parts of my batallion are stationed in north Afghanistan as part of the ISAF force, but there has been a lot mord talking now after a norwegian soldier was killed by a road side bomb last month.

Personly i have no desire to go to Afghanistan or Iraq, or even Sudan and hope i will never have to fire my AG3 at anyone ever! Im trained to cope, and i think i can... but i dont know and i dont want to find out unless i really have to and getting myself involved with a peace keeping mission in one of those places might force me to do just that!

Pretty new myself... Welcome aboard big_smile

Im new so ill just stay on topic... B)

I guess my favourite character is Revan. I really like his story light or dark and find him to be one of the most "wise" force users in all of star wars history. This might not be true since we have yet to see what happend in the Unknown Regions and if he really found the Sith Empire out there. Not to mention what would have happend if he did, but i belive with the power we see in the same is nothing compared to who he might evolve in to wink

Have a feeling Revan will be crushing that empire much like Darth Vader's apprentise in Force Unleashed will be a force wreaking ball lol

Also love Bastila and her sweet way at trying to keep to the Jedi Code and finally breaking somewhat free from it. Also her voice is amazing!

Canderous is also a GREAT character, a Mandalorian, a supreme warrior and killing machine and keeps to the Mandalorians ways of honor and battle big_smile

If you like stuff that happend before the Galactic Empire (like the First Sith War, Mandalorian Wars, Jedi Civil War, Clone Wars etc) read pre Ep3. If you want to know what happens and how things are like after the fall of the Empire post Ep6 would be you kinda literature.

Personly i like pre Ep3 stuff... Big fan of the Fett's and also like the stories surrounding the Old Republic and not the New one created by Luke and his followers after Ep6

I like a lot of the ideas big_smile In my mind KOTOR III would have to continue where II left off and not be as dizzy as KOTOR II. tongue

Where is Revan and whats happend to him(her)? Did the Exile find him in the Unknown Regions and follow him? Why did he

One idea would be to play Bastila (or maybe Carth if you played female Revan) Starting the game with cutscene when Revan says he has to leave her and then do a jump to after the Exile left to find him. Bastila is worried because she felt something disturbing through her bond with Revan and decides to try and find him/them.

First part of the game would be seeking the lost secrets of Revans sith past and trying to figure out where he could have gone and what he might have come accross that is such a threat to the galaxy. It could give us a clearer picture of who Revan was before he turned to the dark side and "who he was" during his reign as Dark Lord of the Sith. You would also have to digg in to who the Exile was before and after Malachor V. (id love a lot of cutscenes/movies)

It would be larger worlds, other forms of transport and new Feats/Abilities both non-Force and Force.

Through out the game Bastila will get visions through her bond with hints to where Revan is and whats happening (a bit like when they were searching for the Star Forge. Brings some of the KOTOR I feel back to it)

She will meet characters from KOTOR I and II, some of them might join her, others might not. This might be determed by Light or Dark side and Male or Female Revan and Exile wink Also have some additional characters.

Geez, notised this is getting lengthy tongue

Anyway, at the ending of the game you will actually find Revan and the Exile together if both are light or dark. If dark side the Exile is his new Apprentise and we have some drama between Bastile and her (if the Exile is a she). Same kind of drama if light as well... Then you get to go discover the plot (and i dont what to know what it is until i get to play it)

Well... This will never be KOTOR III but i like letting my mind fly when i first get the chance. Got tons more but sick of typing and you most likely are getting sick of reading if you even have come this far lol

Cheers

Revan... Most evil and most selfless... I belive he did what he did for the greater good of the galaxy and had gained a greater understanding then anyone could imagine! He belived that if he didnt manage to conquor the Republic he would make it stonger, key reason he left much of it standing until Malik assumed control and started destorying worlds of importance.

The greater Sith Empire is out there beyond the Outer Rim in the Unknown Regions somewhere. Im sure of it. And Revan went there to make hell and grew even more powerfull then he was when he left. But thats just what i feel must have happened, since we have yet to see the TRUE Sith Empire stike the Known Galaxy wink

Just turned 20... But have been trolling forums since i was 11 lol
First forum i have joined in a while with this many under 18, but dont take that the wrong way. Just an observation big_smile

In my experiense age on the internet dosnt mean s**t. Maybe in some cases but there are carebears ranging from 10- to 50+ years old tongue

And just to respond to one of the earlier posts:
Getting older dosnt mean your love for Star Wars will die. For me i get a SW tick few times a year were i have to play SW games, see the movies, cartoons, read comics/books etc and i calm down normally just before my girlfriend slaps me for being such a nerd at times lol

Hi everyone.
Just played through kotor I & II and fell in love all over again tongue
Been browsing the internet the last cuple hours and stubbled across this forum and notised it was still active.

Im just the "typical" 20 year old Star Wars fan thats for the time being serving in the Norwegian Armed Forces and killing off duty time by digging deep in to the Star Wars universe smile

Born in New York City and looking forward to freeing myself from the chains here close to the North Pole tongue

Looking forward to disscussing kotor and other subjects in the future but first get some sleep.

Cheers,
