War changes them. They remember all the people they killed and they can't get it off their minds so they go back and kill some more people... the only way to keep their minds on other things. Keeping them busy all the time.

No body cares anymore... it's just "Win the war, bring our troops home."
Tell you the truth... most of the soliders over here would rather stay here and fight for freedom than go back home and do nothing.
Besides, the bomb dropped on Japan... the soliders came back expecting a warm welcome for saving the country. What'd they get? People throwing stuff at them and calling them baby killers.
