The tale of king Anorian
“I was once a great king of a once powerful land. Then in the glory of my day my kingdom and my family were taken from me and I was cast into darkness.” Let us go back a month or so. This happened after my father the king gave his life to the lord of the Byrds. We had been at war with him for 6 years but my father did not give up even though we were on the losing side. The night before the final battle we made our battle plans and perfected them to the finest detail. There we were at the final battle or so we thought and we had drawn out his forces. I said to my father” it’s now or never”.
He looked at me and smiled then started to rush towards the Byrds front lines. So I followed him and then the rest of the army followed. The battle raged for hours but in the end my father killed him and the Byrds ran from us. A great victory yet my father lay dead on the battle field.
He was slain and fading fast. As I rushed to his side, in his last breath, he gave me his last command. Was to lead his people. The men surrounding us were distraught and hopeless. Soon enough they would see that this was not the end of a great empire. Much to the contrary it was just the beginning. The beginning of a new solidified empire that would be lead by the flesh of my fathers dying blood. I was to be King and my people needed me. So, with every ounce of my being I rose from the body of the former King and spoke to my people. I said “men this day we lost a great many men and our king but that does not mean we just put down our arms and give up. For SIX years my father put his life on the line for you so that you would live. If you gave up now it would be an insult to him and the rest of this kingdom and your families”. The men cheered as I called for silence and said” now we march to castle anorak”. As we marched we had the body of the king in the middle and the men sang. For this was a time of rejoice because though the kings is dead he has gone to his father. When we stopped that night our Captain of the watch came running screaming hysterically the royal guard held him from entering my tent. As I walked he started to talk and an alarmingly fast pace. After we had calmed him and got his name I said “captain Jacob what is wrong why did you storm around the camp screaming like a witch”. His retort was “my king only because I saw her”. I looked at him quizzically “and who is she captain Gibbs”. The captain replied” the she witch of the woods and the queen of the elves”. I stared at him dumbfounded “what were you doing in the woods captain Gibbs”.
“There was a song coming from the woods so I went to investigate and then I saw her so I ran”. “What in god’s name were you doing in those woods?” he said “Sir I was checking what the noise was”. “I am suspending you from watch and as soon as we get back to anorak you will see the medical nurse”. “But sir I can handle it please don’t do this sir”. I looked down”captain Gibbs I am sorry but my decision is final”. He looked down in anguish “sir if that is what you thinks is right I will obey”. I looked at him and nodded then returned to my tent and sat to read the reports. Captain Gibbs walked to the woods again and started to sing the song he had heard. He sang “into the shadow this kingdom walks and the death of many is near but in the end the captain and the king will emerge out on top”. He thought to himself. This song makes no sense why would layrana sing it.
